Kasoundi, a spicy condiment, originated in South India, notably Kerala. Typically made with mustard seeds, vinegar, and spices, it has evolved regionally. Loved for its versatility, Kasoundi is cherished globally for enhancing a variety of dishes. So as you might have gathered, Kasoundi is a spice mix. This signature spice mix can be combined with a variety of main players, from chicken (it will then be called Chicken Kasoundi) to tomato and eggplants (we went with the last one as we are a vegetarian kitchen). Certified organic eggplants, certified organic tomatoes and our version of Kasoundi spice mix, if you could only smell the kitchen when we nearly burn the spice mix in our big pots…

Our Kasoundi is a condiment in the true sense of the word. A tablespoon on the side of ANY meal will enhance the flavours of that meal. It is a mouth-watering condiment on a cheese and cold meat platter, and it is scrumptious with avocado on toast.

Goes great as a pasta sauce (throw through a freshly cooked pasta), or on top of grilled fish.

Storage Instructions

Once open keep refrigerated and if kept clean will keep for a month after opening. You can also top up with olive oil, this way it will keep (refrigerated) for much longer.
